Government Relations

CAC  is highly experienced  with executing strategic plans to develop government relations for clients.  Our expert government relations team brings you a proven record of achievement and welcomes the opportunity to team with you on your mission.  It is important for client executives to not just meet relevant politicians and policymakers, but rather to form a strong relationship with these officials that will grow with each meeting.  CAC can help clients build this necessary foundation to place their organization's priorities to the forefront.

To achieve this goal, it now means we must anticipate what government and policy makers will do next and influence the ultimate outcome. Drawing on experience gained in Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Sacramento, CAC’s group of professionals bring extensive bipartisan experience that enables us to empower clients to respond to and influence emerging public policy challenges and opportunities.  Some of these opportunities include CAC assisting our client's reach beyond its current funding sources to offer them access to programs and financing opportunities that they are not aware they qualify for.  CAC will launch a full and ongoing campaign to promote client agendas, find new resources, apply for new funding opportunities, and build long-term relationships.

CAC’s government relations services will include:
  • Monitoring public agencies' agendas, analyses, hearings, formal discussions, and public actions with respect to organizational opportunities.
  • Utilizing local, state, and federal level relationships to develop legislative and regulatory policy in order to create new opportunities for client benefit.
  • Fostering relationships between our clients and key legislative staff at local, state, and federal levels of government, political audiences, and stakeholders who influence governments.
  • Supervising and providing “real-time” advice about legislative matters and administrative actions, while also implementing strategic options with the city, county, state, and national governments.
  • Advocating on behalf of our clients including: drafting position letters for approval, drafting position papers and language, coordinating committee hearings and agency meeting testimony, and educating important staff, elected officials, and key decision makers of clients' positions on issues of interest.
  • Educating key decision makers of our clients' particular areas of expertise so it is not regarded alongside others.
  • Providing advice and notifying our clients about existing and potential funding opportunities, workshops, incentive programs, strategies, and other opportunities related to the industry.
  • Representing and/or accompanying clients in meetings with the Governor’s office, legislators, and staff and before state agencies.
  • Opening the queue to the City of Los Angeles and entities such as the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, where clients are qualified for programs, but yet realize the potential projects.
  • Increasing clients' voice in local and state government talks regarding education regulation and legislation.
  • Writing and performing legislative actions that benefit clients.
  • Helping clients define objectives and then advise them on how to align services with relevant government goals to achieve success.
  • Interpreting political developments to provide early warning of political and economic initiatives that could have an impact on operations, and formulate strategic responses to them.
  • Planning and coordinating advocacy-oriented events, including advocacy days, awards receptions, legislative receptions, environmental events, and fundraisers.
